Ibotta – Taking grocery shoppers by surprise everywhere, Ibotta is the hottest new app that lets savvy consumers save big on all the biggest brands (especially on groceries). I’ve wracked up exactly $541.00 in savings over the last year if that gives you any idea how much you’re leaving on the table.
Membership – Many people have created a paid membership area on their blog. This is typically for exclusive content that you can only access in the “member’s area.” If you have a really great idea on what to include, this can be a great idea. You’ll have to create something that can’t easily be accessed around the web.
Profit from you photos. If you’re skilled with a camera, you can turn your photos into cash by selling them to stock image sites, such as Shutterstock.com. If the photos you submit are accepted, they can be downloaded by Shutterstock’s subscribers and you can earn anywhere from 25 cents to $120 per image download. Other sites that accept photos from contributors include iStock, Dreamstime and Sqeeqee.
Typically these influencer deals involve the creation of content—an Instagram post, video or Story—and will sometimes include permission for the brand to use this content on their own site or in an ad.
Since my dad won’t let me get a job (wants me to focus on my school work) I will definitely try one of these out. I need money for my social life too, especially since I start my last year of high school in August. Thanks!
Sites like PaidPerTweet allow you to set your own price, which means companies come to you when there’s a good fit available. But the more you participate, the more you can charge to send promoted tweets.
InboxDollars – InboxDollars is similar to Swagbucks, since you’re going to be taking surveys, shopping, etc., so if you want to maximize your return, sign up with both websites. They also offer a search engine that pays you (like Swagbucks) and you get $5 just for signing up. I won’t continue to list survey sites one after another down the list, but if you want to get paid to take surveys, also check out GlobalTestMarket, E-Poll Surveys and Survey Club.
Also known as Multi-Level Marketing (MLM), this is a business model that allows you to generate ongoing income in two ways: by making a commission selling products and by recruiting other members who go on to sell. The later allows you to make money from the sales made by those you have recruited.
Test websites. Remote usability testing means getting paid to navigate a website for the first time and giving feedback to the website owner. Most tests take approximately 15 minutes, and you can get paid up to $10 for each test. A test involves performing a scenario on the client’s website and recording yourself doing it. For example, you might be asked to go through the process of selecting and purchasing an item on a retailer’s website.
Accommodate Multiple Forms of Payment: Many deal-seekers carry cash, but you want to accommodate every potential buyer. So, in the days leading up to the event, consider purchasing a point-of-sale system that can accept credit cards. Square is a popular and relatively cost-effective option: it doesn’t cost anything upfront and bundles credit card processing fees into its own per-transaction fees, resulting in a net expense of 2.75% for most transactions (net of $97.25 for every $100 charged). This is a small price to pay to capture the ever-growing cashless consumer demographic. On the day before the sale, visit the bank and grab $100 in small bills and coin rolls to ensure you’ll have enough change for buyers who do prefer cash.
Develop your description – Since the biggest differentiators of mobile phones are their respective specs, you need to detail them in your classified ad. Also, mention other information like condition and the actual images of the phone and its content to attract more interested buyers.
Teens might be great for this because they would be able to work for less than some higher end website developers, which would put them in the price range that it seems many small businesses are looking to spend.
Learn principles of effective writing. As a freelance writer, much of your work will likely be published on the internet. The principles of writing for the web differ slightly than writing for print. The content must still be high-quality and well-written, but the presentation must be adjusted for the way people read online material.
Is your guitar lying in the corner of your room, without any daily usage? Make money by renting it on Sparkplug. You can do this for other your music instruments also, like amps, mics, harps, or your rehearsal room or studio.
One of the easiest side hustles to do: simply sit and sleep in someone’s house while they are out of town. This is a great side hustle, but too bad it’s usually not a consistent revenue stream for most.
You might already invest for retirement with a 401k, but, you can also boost your non-retirement savings with investing as well. If you like to pick your own stocks, bonds, and ETFs, a well-respected brokerage is Ally Invest. Each trade is only $4.95 which is as low as you can get for a conventional brokerage and still have access to research reports and charting.
This was sorta helpful, but i have 1 comment… who in the world would tell teens to sell plasma for some quick cash. There is no way a parent would even allow their child to sell any part of their body just to hang out with friends or buy something. You have to either be stupid or crazy to even recommend that!
Casino dealer for corporate events. There’s also opportunities to do private parties. You can learn all of the games…blackjack, poker, craps etc on YouTube. You just need to invest in a nice pair of dress pants/skirt, a dress shirt, and dress shoes.
Give your parents some reasons as to why you want to make money (ie: you want to buy yourself a video game). Also, tell your parents that learning how to make money will teach you responsibility and independence. Lastly, share your money making ideas with your parents (ie: taking on a job, making and selling crafts, mowing people’s lawns, etc).
Sites like Swagbucks ask you to watch certain videos and like them. You have to watch for a certain number of minutes which you’ll be told ahead of time. You could earn over $200 a month (earnings vary). You’ll earn Swagbucks for watching (points that can be redeemed for gift cards or Paypal). You can get $5 just for signing up!
Just wanted to let you know that the Teen Cash Machine closed up shop and is no longer active. It’s all little frustrating – I think we spent like $200 or so on this program and the program was pretty solid. Nevertheless, all emails I’ve sent to the owners get kicked back…maybe there was a power outage in Australia? If you know these guys and have details as to what may have happened I would appreciate it. I trust you and Jonathon, but I’m losing faith in your Aussie counterparts! Please let me know if you can find anything out; thanks!
You can also work from home for others. Here is a list of sites where you can search job offers or where you can post an offer yourself. It’s a very convenient way to earn Bitcoins, because many jobs can be completed from home.
Try affiliate marketing. This means promoting someone else’s products or services for pay without actually carrying an inventory. There are many ways of incorporating affiliate marketing into your website/blog/page including banner ads (which are generally ineffective, as people tend to avoid these), linked articles (which are quite successful when the article content is thoughtful and doesn’t appear spammy), and product-placement videos (which can be very successful when done by people with charisma or a good sense of humor). You can even become an affiliate marketer without a website. Basic ways of making money through of affiliate marketing include:
FTC Disclosure of Material Connection: Some of the links in the post above may be affiliate links. This means if you click on the link and purchase the item, we will receive an affiliate commission. Regardless, we only recommend products or services we use personally and/or believe will add value to readers. Read more here.
But if you’re looking for easy money, you’ll likely just get stuck with a lot of bills and worthless information. When websites run promotions that promise that you’ll make thousands a week with no experience and very little time, you can bet your bottom dollar that they’ll be in your wallet before you can ask the first question.
Start a blog. If you love writing and are passionate about a specific topic, starting a blog is a great way to launch a low-cost side business with little money out-of-pocket. All you need to get started is a domain name, some basic online support, and a head full of ideas to share. Here’s a basic primer on starting a blog for profit.
Start by thinking carefully about the type of reader you’d like to have read your blog. You might like to create an avatar of that reader (sometimes called a reader persona or profile) to help you work out who you’re trying to attract.
Nick, I have found that to be true. It is a bummer because it was a helpful program, but while I did have contact with the creator for a while, I have tried to contact him over the last year or more and have never gotten a response – so my only assumption is that they have closed up shop.
With your first project, it’s important to go slow and keep costs down. Set your budget. Start doing as much as you can personally – wireframe, maybe you have some Photoshop skills, sign up to developer and ad network accounts, etc.
Finances. You need to be good at quick math and be able to make quick decisions. You have to be careful how much you pay for a book, and then keep careful track of the expenses involved in selling it. For instance, when you sell on a website, they’ll take a commission from the sale. In addition, some sites, like eBay, will charge you a listing fee for each book. If you request that your money be deposited via PayPal, then you’ll be charged a transaction fee per book. If you’re not careful, the fees will quickly negate your profits.
Indirect Income – later on in my blogging journey opportunity has come for ‘indirect’ income streams. As my blogs and profile grew as a result of my blogging I was able to sell my services as a speaker and consultant and was offered the opportunity to author a book with the publisher Wiley. Later I was able to start an event for bloggers which also made money. None of this income came directly from the blog – but rather it came ‘because’ of my blog.
I live overseas and often find the programs available for planning and budgeting just do not make sense to me. The guidance that Scott provides can be applied to any household regardless of where in the world you live.”– Parenting Abroad
I am not a webdesigner, but if I were in your shoes I would probably start offering my services on elance.com, and let people know that you are doing web work. So maybe use myspace and facebook, etc to get the word out.
In the case study above, he details how he purchases items from Craigslist and resells them to make money. In this post at The Flipping Ninja, A.J. Hakimi buys discounted items from thrift stores and sells them for more than the original price. His process, which is similar to retail arbitrage on Amazon, helps him earn $2,700/month or more than $40k a year.
You could try advertising more, for example, by putting up signs around the neighborhood, posting about it on social media, or having people you know spread the word. You could also try doing it in a different neighborhood that might have friendlier people, or do it in a time and place where there’s likely to be a lot of people walking around the area (e.g., near a church before the end of a mass).
