Sell photos. If you have a decent camera and a good sense of light, color, and composition, you can take and sell stock photos – i.e. nondescript images that lend themselves to many applications and are commonly used to illustrate online articles or products – with minimal effort. Stock photos of locations (a fire hydrant, a bare wall near an interesting tree, or anything you might find as a default background image on your computer) are easier to take, but stock photos of people (i.e. people arguing, people kissing, people laughing) usually sell for more, as they have more uses and require the written legal consent of your subjects. Hunt for a reputable stock photo dealer or database that will pay you fairly before signing on with anyone.
Another good way to make some fast money is to take your old clothes, books, jewelry, furniture that you don’t want any more to a resale store that gives money back for your clothes. Make sure the place you are taking them to is one that does cash back, some resale shops only do store credit for your clothes. But I am a freshman in high school and I do this frequently with my clothes. Resale stores give you from 1/8 to 1/4 of the profit they will make from your clothes. That is a really good profit. I sometimes clear $60-80 off of the clothes, books, movies, jewelry that I take in to resale shops. A good nationwide resale shop to take your clothes too if you are a teenager is Plato’s Closet. They give cash back or will do store credit. They take clothes that are currently in style and also take books, jewelry, shoes, movies, and CDs. Plato’s is also really good about taking name brand items like Miss Me’s and True Religion, and so on.
But if you are bubbly, personable and reckon you could sell ice to an Eskimo then this could actually be a great student money making idea. You get paid commission on new sign ups (typically around £20).
I love the idea of ride-sharing as a side hustle because it’s one of the few “jobs” on here that you can truly do 100% on your own time. If you want to drive in the middle of the night from 2am to 6am, you can!
But this isn’t a quick moneymaker: You’ll need to do plenty of research and find a supplier before you start slapping on labels and actually making money. One TPH contributor made more than $1,000 a month, even after paying for Amazon to fulfill his orders.
After you’ve installed this app on your smartphone for one week, you get to play an instant rewards game for a prize (everyone wins something). We’ve seen users win a $25 Amazon gift card, but some of the other prizes include iPads and Samsung TVs.
You’ve got tons of options — from slot machines to scratch-offs to spin-to-win wheels. Your deposits earn you coins you’ll use to play and hopefully win more coins to play more games or even cash prizes, which will automatically go into your Long Game Savings account.
Do you enjoy taking surveys? Some companies will pay people to take surveys so that they can gather valuable consumer and user data. It might not be the most interesting way to make a buck, but you can find websites like CashbackResearch.com that offer cash for your opinions.
Etsy is the largest online marketplace for handmade and vintage goods. From homemade candles, crafts, clothing, and decor, Etsy can be your new favorite marketplace to connect with other Etsy shoppers that might offer similar items or have shops that pique your interest in other topics.
This leaves you being able to squeeze out the free bet, which can be as much as £200! Multiply this by how many betting sites there are and you can quite easily come away with a profit of a few hundred pounds.
There are many ways to experiment with growing your blog’s audience that I’ve written in previous blog posts and talked about in podcasts (I’ll share some further reading and listening below) but it is important to enter into all these strategies remembering that you should not just be looking for ‘traffic’ but ‘readers’.
If you enjoy children and have the extra space in your house, you can operate a home daycare. This option can be convenient if you live in a neighborhood with working families as they can quickly drop off and pick up their children. It can also be cheaper than a traditional full-time daycare campus as well.
If you’re in one of the 10 states with bottle bills, you can return empty cans and bottles to the store for the deposit refund. I once made $1,500 collecting soda cans at work, although it took months, and I lived in Michigan, where the deposit is 10 cents each (in other states it’s typically 5 cents).
This is one of my favorite recommendations because blogging can be highly rewarding and make it possible to open the doors to several other income ideas on this list. A blog is your own piece of internet real estate to create your own online portfolio to connect with future online clients if you desire, or, you can also use it to share your two cents on the topics you hold near and dear with the rest of the world.
Fohr Card: Connect your Instagram, blog, YouTube channel, and other social platforms to create an influencer “card” that shows your different profiles and total reach for brands shopping around for a partnership. You also get access to a list of brands and their wants, so you can take the initiative to reach out too.
I’m going to tell you about all kinds of legitimate ways to make money online.  Since we are talking about legitimate jobs, you’ve got to be…well, legitimate. Many of these options are real jobs that require you to put in hours if you want to get paid. They also require real work. Here are some tips for actually getting the job:
If I do 100,000 page views in a month (the minimum you need to apply to AdThrive) then I will make anywhere between $500 and $2,000 for that month. Again, it’s dependent on the topics that you write about.
I am 17 in May and currently studying year 12. I don’t have a job though have tried a couple times. Get a $150 bonus when you open a new Chase Savings(SM) account, deposit a total of $10,000 or more in new money within 10 days, and maintain a $10,000 balance for 90 days. You’re not required to open the savings account to earn the $200 Chase checking bonus.

You don’t have to work in a doctor’s office to use your medical knowledge. Healthcare is a large piece of the American economy and the various medical providers and insurance companies have outsourced the coding and billing process to work-at-home people to minimize administrative costs.
If babies ain’t your thing, then maybe canines are… looking after other people’s dogs is big business. Just think that as a student you’re likely to have free time during the day when others are out at work and worried about their pets at home.
We all have laughed at the different FB page admin jokes. In reality, if you have a group with a good number of genuine followers then you are sitting on a goldmine. You can implement your position as a group admin to earn money by being an influencer or acting as an indirect advertisement space for other brands.
Unclaimed.org is an awesome site for finding money that’s due to you that you may have forgotten about. Examples: A utility deposit on an account you had forever ago, money left in a bank account you had as a kid, or a check from an former employer.
If you’re truly interested in becoming a blogger, start by looking through the archives of ProBlogger, Copyblogger and Boost Blog Traffic. Then go read through all the free guides over at Quick Sprout. It may take you a year to complete those tasks alone, but it will be worth it. You’ll practically have a MBA in blogging.
Can you recommend what technologies eg. ASP.NET, PHP .NET should be used to accommodate these security issues as well as what languages would be best used for the client and server side to make the app as lightweight, scalable, expandable and secure as possible?
Just wanted to let you know that the Teen Cash Machine closed up shop and is no longer active. It’s all little frustrating – I think we spent like $200 or so on this program and the program was pretty solid. Nevertheless, all emails I’ve sent to the owners get kicked back…maybe there was a power outage in Australia? If you know these guys and have details as to what may have happened I would appreciate it. I trust you and Jonathon, but I’m losing faith in your Aussie counterparts! Please let me know if you can find anything out; thanks!
Sell hair, plasma, or other body parts/fluids. Long, healthy, untreated hair can be sold for a variety of purposes (including high-end wig- and extension-making) and earn you anywhere from several hundred to several thousand dollars depending on color, health, and length. Plasma can be “donated” (for compensation) provided that you are old, healthy, and heavy enough to qualify. Sperm can be donated, but you usually have to know (and be able to document) a fair amount of information about your parents as well as your medical history to be eligible. But be wary; for example, donating eggs is often touted as a fast, high-profit medical procedure, but the process is actually requires that the participant undergo hormonal and medical treatment, receive regular checkups and ultrasounds, and abstain from sex and intoxicants, all of which take weeks or even months before the eggs are even eligible for removal. The removal process itself is invasive and lasts about 30 minutes.[3] Consider your options very carefully before taking on anything like this.
My 18 year old sister has been complaining that there are no jobs and thet she can’t make money. After reading this, I think she just might be lazy. I’ll forward it to her and see if she still comes up with excuses.
There is a lot of freelance work online. You can sign up for sites like UpWork, or you can even become your own online freelancer like I did. I’ve made over $10,000 on the side by online freelancing, and I share my story, as well as resources to help you get started, here: How To Start Freelance Blogging and Earn $1,000s on the Side.
If you have a webcam, you’re probably eligible for focus groups that host online research panels. Focus groups vary in size and type, but most of them provide some sort of compensation — a check in the mail, a PayPal deposit or even a gift card.

Check with the National Association of Unclaimed Property Administrators. Click your state on the map, and it’ll redirect you to your state’s appropriate search site. (Beware: There are several look-a-like sites out there. Be sure you’re searching legitimate ones.)
These ideas are just ten of the great ones for earning money from your own home. While employment opportunities are getting scarcer, isn’t it good to know that your ability to take things into your own hands is getting greater?

I remember my first job was a junk mail delivery boy when I was about 12. Didn’t pay much at all – didn’t enjoy it much at all either. I then went on to working in a retail shop as a shop assistant, moved onto a joinery shop, and then finally I was doing painting part time by the time I got to university (full time during the holidays).
That’s my plan. No kids, no spouse, parents deceased. I’ll never be able to retire. On PSLF, but forgiveness not approved until 120th payment. Many are not being forgiven now. I take courses to stay in deferment. FedLoan bases payment on gross; not net. How does that make any sense?! After bills I can’t afford the payment. I have 3 grad degrees. Was supposed to be a psychologist. APA & NCE won’t accept my 15yo degrees for the national exam. So I teach at a CC. Over 180,000 in debt now and it grows monthly.
