Do you know that Facebook allows you to develop applications? You can earn through your app by applying for banner ads. You can also approach the gaming companies to sell their virtual goods through your Facebook app. If you really find it interesting to build FB apps, then take your service a notch up and build videos for others.
This isn’t an obscure investment. You can see exactly which properties are included in your portfolio — like a set of townhomes in Snoqualmie, Washington, or an apartment building in Charlotte, North Carolina.
@Karlee – something like Snapchat is a bit different because they’ve raised $1.2B 🙂 but they make money by selling real estate to advertisers. Those news feeds from CNN, etc aren’t free. Plus they do sponsored stories and stuff like that. They are selling Lenses now, which is a step towards more monetization.
Are you tech savvy? Maybe you can help your friends and neighbors with computer repair, from updating and installing the latest operating system to helping them get a virus off their computer. If you have the know-how, people will pay.
Decluttr specializes in entertainment (digital and analog) and consumer technology: books, DVDs, CDs, Blu-rays, games, tablets, laptops, smartphones. That makes it an excellent choice for folks looking to reuse and recycle technology products and reduce electronic waste, which is particularly damaging to the environment and human health.
If you’re looking to make money, you can expect to make around $2 if you get 100 downloads. That’s just a ballpark figure based on my own experience and can vary widely based on how many people click on your ad.
Most of the case studies in the post feature couches, sofas, and dressers, which goes to show that there’s money to be made in these types of items. However, he also made money by selling art and television, so there’s no limit to what you can sell on Craigslist.
He is also diversifying his investment portfolio by adding a little bit of real estate. But not rental homes, because he doesn’t want a second job, it’s diversified small investments in a mix of properties through Fundrise. Worth a look if you’re looking for a low dollar way to invest in real estate.
The idea is you won’t miss the digital pocket change, and the automatic savings stack up faster than you’d think. For example, we reviewed how Penny Hoarder Dana Sitar was able to save at a rate of $420 a year!
Work for someone from home. Virtual assistances (VAs) can do everything from checking emails and making travel plans to handling internet research or working for their small business. High-end earners can command $50-$100 an hour.
Do odd jobs around your neighborhood. Mowing lawns, babysitting, raking leaves, snow shoveling, washing cars, and bathing pets are all examples of services that many people are willing to pay someone else to do. If you can do some of these things and you have some spare time, knock on the doors of family members or neighbors you know well, and offer your services.
What you do will depend on the needs of the business. It can be for a corporation or even for a self-employed project manager that simply doesn’t have the time to keep up with the day-to-day paperwork and doesn’t want the pile in his office to grow to the size of Mt. Everest.
Etsy, for example, is one of the fastest growing sites that gives artists a chance to sell items at a fair price. The site boasts over 40 categories, from gifts to clothes to edibles, with thousands of listings. And the price is right; you can get your own site connected to Etsy for just 20 cents per listing.
Thanks! This is a great list. Being a teenager myself, I have been looking for different ways to make money and some things on this list have definitely caught my eye. Another thing I have discovered, of you have more of an appreciation for crafts, is to make products out of duct tape. People seem to have interest in unique things like this. I have recently been asked to create a beach-themed check book. It does take a bit of practice and patience, but soon enough, if you stick to it (no pun intended), it will definitely be worth it. You would also need a non-stick cutting board, as these help very much in duct tape craft-making, scissors (which are also sold in non-stick form at craft stores) or an Exacto knife if you are very careful, and a model of whatever you are making so you know what size to make it, such as a wallet or checkbook. They have great examples of crafts to make at ducttape.com and other websites. If you get serious enough in your duct tape business you can even make a website to sell them on or even sell them on etsy.com for more of a profit, such as shipping if you want to charge for that, which I may do when I get good enough. Good luck!
Never make due with an investment professional who recommends or patronizes you to turn over all your investment choices to them. Since this is your retirement, nobody will think or care about it more than you do!
The site is basically a virtual online classroom for freelance teachers and students. Anyone can offer lessons (and set their own price) and anyone can take lessons. From a quick scan, it looks like making $15-20/hour is a fair expectation.
I’ve talked to a few networks about their pricing and it ranges from $0.80-$3.00. This means that if you want to promote your app, you will pay Playhaven this amount every time someon installs your game.
Landscape. Look for brush-clearing, mowing, or woodcutting jobs, some of which may land you regular customers. This can save you money at the same time: if you are hired to pick up pine needles, use them to mulch your roses, which will appreciate their acidity and smothering effect on weeds; if you are hired to cut and clear a fallen tree, use it to heat your house that winter.
iWriter – iWriter pays up to $15 for each accepted post. That may seem small, but they aren’t as strict as many of the others above and they also allow you to pick exactly what you write. You can write as many or as few articles as you want.
Through the online peer-to-peer truck share marketplace Fluid Market, you can lend your truck to community members. Fluid Market reports earnings on longbed pickup trucks and cargo vans up to $12,000 a year.
Typically these influencer deals involve the creation of content—an Instagram post, video or Story—and will sometimes include permission for the brand to use this content on their own site or in an ad.
Thanks Bob for provide such a valuable resource. I’ve decided to finally start paying off my debt of $16k, which I’ve had for the last 7 years. I’ve started budgeting and now looking at ways to make more income. This resource you provide is a great place for me to start.
If you don’t have an idea on what side hustle to do right now, this could be an option. I remember when I was younger I would always volunteer for the overtime opportunities. Not only did you get paid well, but you would stand out to your manager, which would also reward you at review and raise time.

You may also benefit from a Starter Project. Don’t jump into your first project head first and guns blazing. You’ll most likely get your ass kicked. But there are tons of sites including Bluecloud, that offer source codes and app templates. These templates save a lot of money, and they usually come with something a little bit extra – for example, a lot of our codes have instructions, image templates, ad libraries, video walkthroughs… The amount you’ll learn from a cheap and easy starter project, will save you tons of time and thousands of dollars later on. Also start reaching out to developers. Get a feel of communication, questions, and what developers are asking of you.
